DECREASING BEHAVIORAL SYMPTOMS OF DEMENTIA - BEHP1143 Reviews behavior analytic methods to decrease behavioral symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Includes how behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (aggression, agitation, wandering) impact the individual's quality of life, daily functioning and dementia progression. Explores the burden BPSD places on a caregiver (pressure to institutionalize, increased cost of care). Covers how functional behavioral assessments have been used to determine function and effective interventions.
