Overview

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's (ERAU) Scheduling and Dispatch for Business Aviation is designed for corporate flight department employees who will schedule and dispatch corporate aircraft or will be establishing scheduling and dispatch procedures using industry resources. This course is part of Embry-Riddle's Corporate Aviation Management Certificate (CAMC) program. Note: This is course provides an overview of the scheduling and dispatch processes in business aviation and corporate flight departments as it relates to managerial duties. Course Objectives

  • Complexities and interrelations involved with crew scheduling for flexibility, morale, crew rest, and maximum crew utilization
  • Evaluation, auditing, and selection process of supplemental lift options
  • Basic issues of passenger satisfaction regarding reliability, catering, baggage, scheduling, bench marking and customer profiles
  • Current domestic and international regulations pertaining to schedulers and dispatchers
  • Crew certification, compliance and availability
  • Aircraft certification, compliance and reliability and availability
  • Weather forecasting and its effect on the missions
  • Organizational administration and support functions
  • Fuel cost analysis
  • Scheduling software resources and functionality

Course Information

This is an online asynchronous instructor facilitated course with weekly modules and assignments, but no scheduled meeting times. Students should plan to spend approximately 10-15 hours per week working through the course. Coursework is web-based with no additional software required, although a reliable internet connection is recommended. All courses open 48 business hours in advance of each start date, and must be completed by their scheduled end dates. Digital certificates are available upon successful completion of individual courses. Printed certificates are mailed only upon completion of a full certificate program.
