Course Detail: SUAS-4010L1 - TOP Level 1 Recertification in association with AUVSI [sUAS 4010L1]
Overview
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's (ERAU) Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International's (AUVSI) Trusted Operator Program? (TOP) Level 1 Recertification is designed for TOP Level 1 certified remote pilots seeking recertification. AUVSI requires TOP Level 1 pilots recertify every 2 years. This course is self-paced and available entirely online. Students must complete all recertification requirements by the last day of the course.
*AUVSI Recertification fee of $120 not included. Payment of TOP Level 1 certification fee is required for recertification.
Learning Outcomes
Level 1 recertification covers low-risk operations under the FAA's small UAS rule (CFR Part 107), such as flights during the day, below 400 feet and away from people, as well as the following topics:
- Routine operations under CFR Part 107
- Operations that do not require a waiver of FAR Part 107
- Flights using electric aircraft less than 5 lbs or 2 kg
- Operations that do not have any of the characteristics covered in TOP Level 2 and 3 such as operations close to airports, helipads, populated areas, people and livestock
Who Should Attend
To achieve TOP Level 1 rcertification, operators are required to already possess current TOP Level 1 certification and a current CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate:
- Remote pilots looking to recertify expired or expiring TOP Level 1 certification.
*Remote pilots that do not have a current CFR Part 107 RPC or initial TOP Level 1 certification should enroll in SUAS 2000 Ground School and TOP Level 1.
