Overview

AAC 104 will take students on a guided tour of the aerospace elements of the launch industry, human spaceflight, space science, Earth observation, satellite communications, and future pathways. Students will also review programs and technologies of aerospace flight exploration.

This course awards 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) upon completion.

It may be taken independently or combined as one of four courses in the Aviation Essentials Certificate program.

• Major events and advances in the history of aerospace
• Safety/critical issues that impacted major historical aerospace incidents, and the regulations and technologies to increase safety in space
• Current technologies and vehicles of the aerospace industry
• Currently scheduled plans for spaceflight exploration programs
• Future aerospace program concepts, and their potential viability and impact

Course Information

This course is online, self-paced, and asynchronous. There are no scheduled meeting times with an instructor. Coursework is web-based with no additional software required. A reliable internet connection is recommended.  This course contains a graded assessment at the conclusion.
