Course Detail: LLPPROD - Fresh Produce 101
We need more fresh produce in our diets to maximize our health. However, fresh produce is linked to any food borne illness outbreaks. In Fresh Produce 101, we'll explore the food safety risks around fresh produce an how to handle produce for the best results. We'll learn what is meant by the local food system and some of the current issues around food. Finally, we'll step into the kitchen to taste several recipes featuring fresh produce prepared in the Mediterranean style from NC Cooperative Extension's Med Instead of Meds series.

She joined NC Cooperative Extension in 2005 and became the Pitt County Cooperative Extension Director in 2015.
