Biography: Ms. Tanya Cannon is a teaching instructor in the Literacy Studies, English Education and History Education Department located in the College of Education at East Carolina University (ECU). She completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees at ECU. She served as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and mentor teacher with Pitt County Schools prior to returning to her alma mater to advise and teach pre-service teachers. She has co-authored two professional journal articles and currently serves as the Undergraduate Program Area Coordinator of the Reading Education Program Area. Some of her hobbies include boating, gardening, scrap booking, and walking. Also, she loves the beach. She currently resides in Greenville with her husband and three children.
