Biography: Medical Readers' Theater coordinator, Todd Savitt, PhD, is a historian of medicine who has taught in medical humanities programs at the University of Florida and East Carolina University since 1976. His research is primarily in the area of African-American medical history. Dr. Savitt has led discussions and served as coordinator of the ECU Medical Readers' Theater Program since its beginning in 1988. Many of the Readers' Theater scripts used in our performances have been published in Todd L. Savitt, ed., Medical Readers' Theater: A Guide and Scripts.
