Biography: Dr. Calvin Mercer has long written and lectured about the Bible, both at the university and in churches throughout the nation. Although his current research and many of his speaking engagements are on the social and religious implications of extreme human enhancement technology, his original training and for many years his research were in biblical studies, especially the Greek New Testament. He is professor in the ECU Religious Studies Program and coeditor of Palgrave Studies in the Future of Humanity and Its Successors.
