Course Detail: PLM001 - Principal Leadership Module: Teacher Effectiveness
The purpose of this introductory module on teacher effectiveness is to generate discussion and reflection on the expanding concept of teacher effectiveness, to align each participant's definition of teacher effectiveness with research and the NC Professional Teaching Standards, and to articulate the implications for instructional leadership.

Participants who successfully complete this module will:
Reflect on various definitions of teacher effectiveness. Review current articles and research on teacher effectiveness. Examine and discuss how teacher effectiveness is defined in the 2007 NC Professional Teaching Standards. Identify and discuss expectations for school executives related to teacher effectiveness as defined in the 2007 NC Standards for school executives. Identify (1) priorities for the school or district in the area of teacher effectiveness and (2) strategies for addressing them.
