Course Detail: LLPHOPE - Hope Plantation and Cashie River Cruise
Hope Plantation, the home of former North Carolina Governor David Stone, and situated outside of Windsor, NC, offers insight into late 18th and 19th century life in eastern North Carolina. In addition to the mansion, the plantation consisted of buildings for blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, a saw mill, a kitchen dairy, a grist mill and a meat house. The King-Bazemore House, built in 1763, is now housed on the plantation grounds and is one of the few remaining examples of the mid-eighteenth century hall and parlor design. After lunch, the group will visit the Roanoke Cashie River Center and take a short boat ride down the river.
