Course Detail: LLPGMOA - Exploring NC Culture at the Greenville Museum of Art

In this class, led by the Executive Director of the Greenville Museum of Art (GMoA), students will explore the social and cultural history of NC artworks through observation, personal reflection, and group discussion. Students can expect an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the curatorial process and how curators intersect Museum goals with exhibitions. Classes will be held in a different GMoA gallery each week, and seating will be provided. Topics will include Eastern NC treasures like Francis Speight and Minnie Evans, Black Mountain College and the avant-garde movement, Seagrove Pottery, the upcoming Scott Avett exhibition, and many more.
