Visits with medical providers may become more intimidating as people age. It is sometimes difficult to find the time to ask questions regarding your maintenance of your health and well being in the physician's office. This course seeks to answer some of these questions by bringing local physicians together with eastern North Carolina residents. Topics covered will include the schedule and rationale for screening exams and important vaccinations for adults, management of risk factors for common life-threatening diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, as well as tips for maintaining health after 50 years of age. This course's primary goal is to help you understand and take charge of your health and to encourage conversation between healthcare providers and patients.
