Course Detail: BLS202 - Basic Life Support Instructor Skills

This course is designed for healthcare professionals wanting to become Basic Life Support Instructors for the American Heart Association.

Participants will learn the most current American Heart Association Guidelines, requirements, materials, teaching techniques in order to instruct BLS and Heartsaver level courses. Instructor candidates must have a current AHA BLS Provider course completion card and be at least 18 years of age.

Tuition includes The BLS instructor manual.

Biography: Brian has 25 years experience as a professional software developer. He has worked as a Senior Lead Software Engineer/Manager at leading technology companies in the Seattle area. Over the years I've developed graphics programs, various kinds of Windows programs from terminal emulation to ultrasound to report generators for internet-based, database- oriented multi-media computer-based training courses, to just about everything in between, in C++. I've done full object-oriented designs and architecture for biometric software, as well as internet-based bartering and manufacturing enhancement software in Java. As an instructor and course developer, I have applied my extensive knowledge of C, C++ and Java to teach at Highline Community College (5 years), Boeing (10 years), and the last 5 years at the University of Washington.
