Course Detail: AEC - Aerospace Engineering Camp for 14-18 year olds

Our Aerospace AERO program teaches fundamentals of aerospace engineering and the science of flight. Classes emphasize topics such as aerodynamics, propulsion systems and aircraft design, as well as an introduction to structures and materials, and computer-aided design. Students will collaborate with their peers to learn and apply the latest technology in the aerospace engineering industry.

This is a hands-on course. Students will be working with Embry-Riddle faculty in our engineering labs while learning the principles of design and experimental testing. Our elite Aerospace Engineering professors have many years of experience in the field and will give students the opportunity to test their newly learned skills in competitions throughout the week. Competitions include the aerodynamic flight testing of balsa wood gliders and the structural testing of 3D-printed plastic models.

Step into a world where numbers tell stories, patterns predict the future and data reveals the hidden order of our universe! Participants become data explorers, using the tools of modern science and engineering to uncover secrets in everything from DNA to dynamic systems. Whether you're simulating chaos, decoding life itself or teaching machines to learn, this immersive experience transforms abstract math and code into vivid, hands-on discovery.

No experience? No problem! With step-by-step guidance and intuitive simulations, you'll build skills in MATLABPython, and beginner-friendly data tools through interactive challenges and creative projects.

What You'll Do:

·        Decode real DNA data to uncover genetic patterns and relationships.

·        Visualize chaos and the butterfly effect with mesmerizing system simulations.

·        Apply optimization techniques to make smarter, real-world decisions.

·        Build your first machine learning models to predict and forecast outcomes.

·        Experiment in MATLAB Simulink to explore control systems and stability.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition includes on-campus meals, classroom instruction, books, and materials. More information is provided in the Enrollment Packet. "Take Flight" and "Diamond Flight" Camp does not include lodging.
