Biography: Lori Miller grew up in rural Iowa and landed in beautiful Bend, Oregon, in 2015 after retiring from a 25-year professional career. Inpursuit of her passion for baking, Lori graduated from the Baking& Pastry Program at the Cascade Culinary Institute (CCI).Having the opportunity to attend this program in her "backyard"was literally a dream come true! Lori is a substitute Baking &Pastry Instructor for CCI, in addition to teaching CommunityEducation classes for baking enthusiasts of all ages. Lori alsoworks as a baker for Mill Fire Baking, specializing in artisanbread production and fresh-milled bakery items. She remainsengaged in her community by volunteering for a variety ofculinary events and enjoys working at local farmers' markets.

In this four class series, you will learn to make and maintain a sourdough starter. We will use that starter to make easy sourdough recipes that elevate your baked goods with flavor and nutrition: Marionberry scones, cinnamon rolls, pretzels, and everyday loaf bread. Explore the endless alternatives to "artisan" bread! Each week, please bring a reusable container from home to transport your baked goods in.
