Biography: Rachel Kirk has a doctorate in Spanish linguistics applied to the teaching of Spanish, and more than two decades of experience teaching Spanish to students ranging from elementary school through the university level. In the classroom she excels at engaging students and inspiring in them a passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Other professional interests include Spanish and Hispanic art, literature, and flamenco. She has been recognized as an Outstanding Educator.

Strengthen your Spanish speaking and comprehension skills through engaging literature and lively dialogue. This class is designed for advanced Spanish speakers who enjoy reading and thoughtful discussion. Each week, students will read a short story independently, then come together to explore its themes, language, and context through guided conversation. The course will feature four short stories provided as PDFs by the instructor. Recommended for learners with Intermediate-High to Advanced Spanish proficiency.
