 Biography:

Always interested in plants, science, and art, Jeanne Debonsfound her calling with botanical painting. Jeanne moved back to the high desertof Central Oregon in 2006 and has continued to paint and teach botanicalillustration workshops since. Her work has been shown in several localexhibitions and has been published. She teaches a technique derived from themulti-step method introduced to her by Anne Marie Evens, which allows beginnersto follow step-by-step and realize results.

Jeanne earned her PhD from the Department of Botany andPlant Pathology at Oregon State University in 1986, and subsequently hasstudied botanical painting on her own and at the EnglishGardening School, receiving a diploma as a Botanical Illustrator in2005.

Drawing: Introduction to Botanical Drawing and Painting

Do you admire the beauty of flowers and plants in botanical art and in nature? In this engaging, welcoming and hands-on workshop, you'll learn to capture the delicate shapes, details and colors of flowers and other botanical subjects on paper in a series of simple steps! Taught by Jeanne Debons, local artist and member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA), this course includes an introduction to supplies, botanical drawing and watercolor painting techniques, and you will have plenty of time to try out the techniques in class. All materials provided by instructor. No experience necessary, all skill levels welcome!
