Instructor: Jeanette Small

Jeanette Small
Biography:

Jeanette Small discovered her passion for fine art as a toddler and studied traditional drawing and painting techniques from accomplished artists ever since. Born in Eastern Europe, raised in Germany and living in the USA since she was 17, Jeanette's perspective and experiences are diverse and culturally rich.

Jeanette studied Psychology at the University of California Santa Barbara and at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, and has been working as a fine artist and print maker since 2014. Creating art is akin to a spiritual practice for Jeanette. She seeks to share her felt experience through anon-verbal visual expression. Her work ranges in size and media, the human figure often being a focal point in her art.

Jeanette's intention is to facilitate a safe space for experienced artists to hone their drawing skills and for beginners to develop an understanding for shapes, quality of line and values. Everyone is welcome at the Figure Drawing Open Lab. Come be part of an artist community of various ages, walks of life and levels of art experience.
