Biography: Brandie Ross was born and raised here in Bend, OR. Her journey in Spanish began at Bend Senior High School and continued to the University of Oregon where she studied abroad in Querétaro, México, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as well as a certificate in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. She then spent almost a year in Plasencia (Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain) teaching English in a public high school. Upon returning home, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with an ESOL endorsement from George Fox University and began teaching in the Bend-LaPine School District. She teaches a variety of levels of Spanish at Mountain View High School, including AP Spanish Language and Culture. In addition to her love of teaching Spanish, Brandie loves to hike, practice yoga, go to country music concerts and travel. She and her husband have traveled to many countries together and every two years they plan a trip with a group of Brandie's students to a Spanish-speaking country during Spring break where they have the opportunity to use their Spanish outside of the classroom. Watching her students light up when they truly begin to acquire the language is her favorite part of her job.
