Course Detail: Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider

Be assured and confident in your BLS skills. Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival. This BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.
The American Heart Association requires each student to have access to their own current AHA manual prior to, during and after their CPR course. If you do not have access to a current AHA manual for the course you are taking, you must purchase one. The BLS Provider Manual is available to purchase through Continuing Education online registration. Manuals must be picked up at the COCC Continuing Education Office at 1027 NW Trenton Ave, Bend during open hours. BLS Provider Manuals are non-refundable.
