Course Description: Take Your Health to the Next Level: A Full Series

This is a series of classes on five nutrition and health topics, central to reaching a deeper level of health than your average "healthy eating". Learn the basics (and lots of tips!) for choosing and successfully taking quality supplements. Know the 3-4 essential supplements nearly every adult needs, and how to assess if you may need others to meet your health needs. Find out how you can protect your bone health, starting at any age, and slow or stop bone loss without medication. Discover how our national epidemic of chronic, hidden inflammation is deteriorating our digestion, arteries, joints, and so many other aspects of our health, and gather the knowledge to significantly turn this condition around. Finally, learn ways to boost your immunity for short-term needs like travel or recovering faster/better from infection or injury, as well as long-term needs like aging. Signup for all sessions in the series at a discounted rate, or take any of the single sessions.

Jari Serra RD

Biography: Jari Serra is an Integrative Clinical Dietitian and Nutrition Educator. She was raised with an emphasis on nutrition, yoga and natural medicine. Before graduating from OSU and becoming a dietitian, she was co-founder and owner of the West Bank Cafe, Corvallis' first natural foods restaurant. In private practice for more than 30 years, she specializes in combining mainstream and alternative approaches to nutritional and medical treatment.

Jari's intention is to help her clients and students find their way to the individualized way of eating and specific health regimens that work for them. Her special interests include rebuilding bones without medication, new approaches to arthritis healing, liver and other organ cleansing regimens, restoring thyroid and adrenal function, improved injury and surgery recovery, and the many digestive and bowel conditions now affecting millions of Americans. She's been teaching and speaking for over 25 years and began offering classes through Community Learning in 2013.

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
